MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team is in the midst of its fall camp, the Tiger coaching staff has several events planned for the coming weeks to get the team geared up for the 2013 season.
The Tigers’ annual alumni game will coincide with homecoming once again in an effort to get as many former Dakota Wesleyan baseball players as possible back on campus. The DWU alumni will take the field at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Drake Field. All former Tiger baseball players are welcome to come back and play. The game is also open to the public.
The Dakota Wesleyan baseball coaching staff is putting on a prospect clinic at the end of September for area high school baseball players. The camp starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, at Cadwell Park in Mitchell, and is open to all high school baseball players from South Dakota and surrounding states.
Players will be tested in the 60-yard dash, arm strength, hitting, pop time, pitching velocities and defense. All players need to dress in uniform, including hats, baseball pants and cleats, and a scrimmage will end the camp. Cost is $30 per athlete.
