MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team is hosting a meet the team night prior to the start of its 2012-13 season, head coach Shane Murphy announced this week.
On Wednesday, Oct. 24, the Tigers will host a scrimmage at the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center on the DWU campus and give fans the opportunity to meet the players following the scrimmage. At 7:30 p.m., the 2012-13 Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball team will scrimmage a TIBBS Basketball team made up of all former college basketball players. Included on the roster are former Tiger basketball players Chase Walder, Preston Broughton and Kevin Talley.
Following the scrimmage, fans are encouraged to stick around and talk to this year’s team and get autographs and pictures. There will also be DWU basketball apparel available for sale.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. The Tigers officially open the 2012-13 season Friday, Nov. 2, when they host Mayville State University at 8 p.m. as part of the DWU Fulton State Bank Classic at the Corn Palace.
