SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team lost 3-0 to Briar Cliff University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match Tuesday night in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Chargers improved to 11-9 overall and 3-4 in the league with 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18 wins over the Tigers. Dakota Wesleyan is now 4-17 overall and 0-5 in the GPAC.
Dani Bird and Sammy Fluck both had seven kills to pace the Tiger offense. Sarah Kruse added six kills. Bri Jung had 24 assists and four digs. Stacie Brinker led the DWU defense with eight digs and Maggie Stehly, Bird and Katie Lindow each added six.
Marissa Van Driel led the Chargers with seven kills and Brooke Maguire and Breanna Nogelmeier each added six. Erin Frank had 20 assists and Danielle Helland chipped in with 10. Kally Iedema had 12 digs and Amy Frank, Lindsey Jardine and Erin Frank each had seven.
Dakota Wesleyan is back at home Friday, Oct. 5, when it hosts Jamestown College for its homecoming match at 7 p.m. at the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center. The DWU homecoming pep rally and the burning of the W will follow directly after the match.
