MITCHELL, S.D. – After a year hiatus, the Dakota Wesleyan University softball team will once again be holding a Share What You Wear community clothing event this fall.
The Tigers are asking everyone in the Mitchell community to go through closets, boxes and sheds to find items to donate to the cause, which will benefit those in need around the community. Between Nov. 7 and Nov. 28, the Tigers are asking for donations of clean clothing; coats, hats and gloves; baby items; work clothes; shoes; toys; usable household items; sheets, towels and blankets or any other new household items.
Items can be dropped off at a semitrailer donated by Puetz Corporation in the DWU parking lot on Duff St., north of the football practice field, between Wednesday, Nov. 7, and Wednesday, Nov. 28. Collection times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6 and 8 p.m.
Volunteers are needed from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, to sort and organize the items, and distribution will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center on the DWU campus. Items are available for free to those in need from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 1.
Contact DWU assistant coach Heather Ebert at 306-232-7425 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Larger household items and furniture will also be collected, but please call ahead so volunteers can be ready to load and unload the items.
