MITCHELL, S.D. – Two Dakota Wesleyan University athletes have earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for the College Division in District 6, it was announced Thursday afternoon.
Junior Skyler Eriksen, a member of the Tiger football team, and sophomore Bri Jung – a member of the DWU volleyball team – were both honored by CoSIDA. Both athletes are now up for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, which will be voted on later this fall.
Eriksen is an offensive lineman for the Tigers. He is a part of an offensive line that has allowed Dakota Wesleyan to run for 1,083 yards and throw for 2,187 more so far this season. The Tigers have scored 213 points and have 3,270 yards of total offense. Eriksen, a Presho, S.D. native, is an elementary education major with a 3.73 GPA.
Jung is a setter for the DWU volleyball team. After two seasons with the Tigers, she is fifth on the school’s all-time assists chart with 1,605. She recorded 935 assists this season and averaged 8.13 assists per game. She also had 47 kills, 20 service aces and had 264 digs. The Warner, S.D., native is a nursing major with a 3.94 GPA.
