DWU set to host high school classic

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball program will host the DWU High School Boys’ Basketball Classic Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Corn Palace.

The classic – which is sponsored by Culver’s Frozen Custard – starts at 11 a.m. with games running every hour and a half with the final game scheduled for 8 p.m. The seven games will be played between high school boys’ basketball teams from South Dakota Class A and B schools.

Participating teams include Canistota, Castlewood, Corsica/Stickney, Centerville, James Valley Christian, Sully Buttes, White River, Viborg-Hurley, Aberdeen Roncalli, Rell Rapids, McCook Central/Montrose, Mount Vernon, Spearfish and Tri-Valley. Pairings will be announced the week of the classic to ensure the best matchups after the newest high school rankings come out.

A limited number of reserved seats are available for the classic and general admission is available as well. Both tickets can be secured by calling the Corn Palace box office at 605-995-8430.
