MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University men’s soccer coach Jeremy Tosaya announced another addition to his 2013 roster recently when he released the signing of Donevan Roe.
Roe, a 5-foot-9 midfielder from Blair, Neb., will be a freshman for the Tigers this coming fall. He joins the DWU men’s program after earning three varsity letters at Blair High School. He earned all-conference honorable mention honors with the Bears, and also played on the Blair club team as well as the Omaha FC Elite 2 team.
Roe, who plans to major in criminal justice, is a four-time member of the honor roll.
“We never thought that Nebraska was going to be a major recruiting region for us, let alone the Omaha area, but we’ve been blessed to have some very good players from some very good programs sign this year, and Donevan is definitely one of those,” Tosaya said. “He comes from a great program, Omaha FC, and we are excited to see how he can impact our team in the midfield.
Roe is the third Nebraska signee this offseason for Dakota Wesleyan. He joins forward Sam Roberts midfielder Mike Cluck, both Papillion, Neb., natives on the DWU roster next season. Derek Granum (F, Brookings, S.D.); Colby Sprung (D, Lakeville, Minn.); Nick Tschakert (D, Watertown, S.D.); Brier Derby (MF/F, Watertown, S.D.) and Peter Wartenberg (MF/D, Chaska, Minn.) have also committed to play with the Tigers in 2013.
