MITCHELL, S.D. – The calendar says April 22, but the scene outside looks more like mid-December or January.
Another round of winter weather early this week has forced more schedule changes in the athletic department at Dakota Wesleyan University this week. The Mount Marty College Twilight Meet – which the Tiger track team is competing in – was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, but is now Wednesday, April 24, in Yankton, S.D.
The DWU softball team is still looking to host its first home game since April 6. The Tigers were slated to play Midland Saturday, April 20, but that game was pushed back to 5 p.m. Monday, April 29. Dakota Wesleyan was scheduled to host Mount Marty College Monday, April 22, in a game that was originally scheduled to be played on April 15, but that game has been rescheduled a second time. The Tigers host the Lancers Tuesday, April 30, at 4 p.m. at McWhirter Field in Mitchell.
DWU’s road doubleheader at Dordt College, originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, in Sioux Center, Iowa, has also been moved. That Great Plains Athletic Conference game is now Wednesday, April 24, starting at 5 p.m. in Sioux Center. The Tigers are slated to host Concordia University at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
The DWU baseball team – which hasn’t played at home since April 7 – is on the road at Dordt Thursday, April 25, and returns home Friday, April 26, for a 9-inning game against Dakota State at 6 p.m. The Tigers host Mount Marty College at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, for senior day.
