MITCHELL, S.D. – Pairings have been announced for the DWU high school boys’ basketball classic, the Dakota Wesleyan University athletic department announced Wednesday morning.
The classic features 14 teams from around South Dakota. It starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
Playing in the first game of the day at 11 a.m. will be Bridgewater-Emery (5-7) and South Central (7-7). McCook Central/Montrose (6-7) takes on Corsica/Stickney (8-6) at 12:30 p.m., and Mount Vernon/Plankinton (10-5) plays Potter County (9-2) at 2 p.m.
Dell Rapids (7-5) plays Parkston (10-4) at 3:30 p.m., and the first ranked team of the day, Pine Ridge – ranked second in Class A with a 10-1 record – plays Aberdeen Roncalli (12-2) at 5 p.m. A 7-4 Platte-Geddes squad takes on 9-2 Sully Buttes at 6:30 p.m., and the last game of the day features White River, which is 11-2 and ranked No. 1 in Class B, against the second-ranked team in Class B, James Valley Christian (11-1).
