The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Kamberlyn Lamer, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Wednesday.
The Hartford, S.D., native qualified for the 37th Annual NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championships after her performance at the Dordt Twilight Meet on Friday, May 12.
Lamer notched a second-place finish in the long jump after a personal best leap of 18-1.75 feet. The mark also broke the DWU school record. She also recorded a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.35. Lamer helped the Tigers take first in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.81.
The championships begin on May 25 and finish May 27 at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala. Lamer will compete in the long jump, which will take place on May 26 at 5:30 p.m. (CT).
