The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Paige Kinley, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Wednesday.
Kinley and the Tigers began the week competing in the Tucson Invitational. On Wednesday, Kinley finished with three hits and one run in three at-bats along with a stolen base as the Tigers defeated Madonna University, 5-4.
Later that day DWU took on Hiram College. In the 15-2 victory, Kinley notched three hits and two runs along with an RBI. To finish the day, the Tigers took on future Great Plains Athletic Conference member, the University of Jamestown. The Worthington, Minn., native added one run in the 6-3 win.
On Thursday, DWU traveled to Mesa, Ariz., to take on Benedictine University at Mesa for a doubleheader. Kinley ended the day with five hits in only seven at-bats, two doubles and one run. In the field, she finished with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Kinley leads the team in hits with 27 and stolen bases with four this season. In 24 games, she also leads the team with a .458 batting average and is tied for first in doubles with five.
The Tigers hit the road to take on Southwest Minnesota State University at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday in Marshall, Minn.
