The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Amber Bray, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
In the first game of the week, Bray helped the Tigers make history as DWU defeated No. 15 Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, for the first time in program history. The Anoka, Minn., native notched 18 points and nine rebounds, just shy of a double-double.
On Senior Day, she helped the Tigers down the College of Saint Mary, 86-52 for their ninth-straight victory. The senior forward finished with a double-double after recording 16 points and 13 rebounds in the contest.
Bray currently leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 14.3 points per game. She ranks 10th in the NAIA in free-throw percentage shooting 86.4 percent on the season. She has totaled 1,155 points in her career, good for 17th in school history.
The Tigers take on No. 9 Northwestern College at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
