The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Josephine Bardsley, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
The Tea, S.D., native recorded two goals, an assist and the game-winning goal on Friday against NCAA Division II opponent, Black Hills State University.
Bardsley recorded an assist in the 17th minute of the match to put the Tigers up 1-0. With just seven minutes to play, she tallied her first goal of the game to give DWU a one-goal lead. Less than four minutes into overtime, Bardsley secured the victory with her second goal.
This marked the second time this season that the sophomore midfielder hit a game-winning goal as she ranks 10th in the NAIA in game-winning goals. She also ranks 13th nationally with 0.5 game-winning goals per game.
The Tigers return to the pitch against another NCAA Division II opponent in University of Minnesota-Crookston at 5 p.m. on Friday in Crookston, Minn.
