The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Kamber Lamer, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
The Hartford, S.D., native competed at the GPAC Championships on Friday and Saturday. Lamer took first in the Pentathlon and set the DWU Pentathlon record with 3,311 points.
In the events of the Pentathlon, Lamer took third in the high jump with a jump of 5-0.5. Next, she placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.32 seconds. Later, she took fifth in the long jump after a mark of 17-2.75 and in the shot put Lamer took fifth with a throw of 32-11. In the 800-meter run, she finished in fifth-place in a time of 2:34.42.
In the triple jump, Lamer took third following a leap of 36-5.5 feet.
Lamer qualified for the NAIA National Championships on March 1 until March 3 in Pittsburgh, Kan.
