The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Kamber Lamer, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
In her first meet since the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last year, the Hartford, S.D., native picked up right where she left off as she broke two school records at the SDSU Holiday Open Friday and Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Lamer set a school record with a time of 9.24, good for fifth place. She also notched another school record with a score of 3,207 in the pentathlon. The score secured her an eighth-place finish, while hitting the provisional national qualifying mark in the pentathlon.
In the 800-meter run she finished in 12th, 10th in the high jump, 16th in the shot put and fifth-place in the long jump.
Lamer and the DWU men’s and women’s track and field teams compete next at the Dordt Open on Jan. 13 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
