The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Rebecca Frick, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
On Friday, Frick recorded her 1,000th-career kill during the Tigers match against Midland University. She is the seventh player in school history to reach that feat. On Saturday, she helped guide the Tigers to a hard-fought victory over Concordia University. She finished with 22 kills and 14 digs to help secure the 3-1 win.
The outside hitter from Yankton, S.D., currently is ranked third in the nation in total kills with 324, and now has collected 1,030 kills in her career. She currently sits in sixth place in school history for kills and is also 17th in school history for career digs with 818.
DWU will hit the road for a weekend doubleheader with the first game against Hastings College on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Hastings, Neb.
