The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Rebecca Frick, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.
The Yankton, S.D., native helped her team sweep the Robert Morris University Eagle Invitational in Chicago over the weekend. Frick recorded a total of 66 kills and 56 digs in the tournament, including a 25-kill and 22-dig performance in a 3-1 win over William Penn University (Iowa). The 25 digs was one shy of a career-high, while the 22 digs was her second-best mark of her career.
Frick also posted 11 kills and 11 digs against Robert Morris University (Ill.). Against Ave Maria University (Fla.) she recorded 13 kills and 10 digs. In the final game of the weekend, Frick posted 17 kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over Graceland University (Iowa).
Frick currently ranks fifth in the nation with 4.7 kills per game.
Frick and the Tiger volleyball team return to action to take on Dakota State University at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
