MITCHELL, S.D. - The Dakota Wesleyan University Tiger Athlete of the Week is Rylie Osthus, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Wednesday.
Osthus completed her brilliant career on Monday at the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Tournament. The senior guard averaged 16.7 points, six rebounds and four assists per game in the National Tournament. She also finished sixth in the NAIA in total assists with 190 assists this season.
The De Smet, S.D., native has made her mark in the DWU record books as she sits in 10th all-time scoring list with 1,466 career points. Osthus also tallied 694 assists, 225 steals and 709 rebounds in her career. Osthus was named Defensive Player of the Year of the GPAC this season, after being selected Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. Osthus was named All-GPAC in all four seasons of her career including a first team honor in the 2017-18 season.
Osthus finished her four-year career with a total record of 117-28 and helped guide the Tigers to four-straight National Tournament appearances during her time in a Tiger uniform.
