MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's golf team added Jordan Glanzer and Cassidy Gosmire from Howard High School for the 2018-2019 season, women's head golf coach Tom Hoek announced Tuesday.
During her junior season, Glanzer tallied a 10th-place finish at the South Dakota Class 'B' State Golf Tournament. She also recorded a third-place finish at the regional tournament her junior season. The Howard, S.D., native took 10th at the State Golf Tournament during her sophomore season and placed second at the regional tournament in her sophomore campaign.
Glanzer helped her team to first place in the regional tournament and sixth place at the State Golf Tournament in 2016. She also helped her team take second at the regional tournament and fourth at the State Golf Tournament in 2017.
She was named Most Promising in 2015 and the Team MVP in 2016 and 2017. Glanzer is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Tim and Brenda Glanzer and plans to major in digital media and design.
Gosmire has competed on her high school golf team for four seasons with an average of 88. She was named Golf MVP of her team her sophomore and junior seasons. Gosmire is a four-time letterwinner in golf and also participated in basketball and volleyball.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and won the Presidential Award. She is the daughter of Ted and Kari Gosmire and plans to major in nursing at DWU.
"These two have been competing against each other since they first picked up a club," Hoek said. "They have really been an influential part of Howard's success on the course the last four or five years. We look for that success to carry on into their collegiate careers as well as the classroom."
