Dakota Wesleyan dropped a 7-2 decision to Valley City State. The Tigers were held scoreless through the first seven innings before pushing across single runs in the eighth and ninth. Nathan Meyers came off the bench and provided an RBI double in the eighth to break up the shutout. Caleb Breuer added a double in the ninth for DWU's fifth and final hit of the game.
The Tigers finished with five hits and six walks but stranded 11 runners. Caleb Meyers reached base three times via walks and added two stolen bases. Diego Jirau and Broc Berry also recorded stolen bases, but DWU was unable to capitalize on early opportunities.
Statton Corey started on the mound and was charged with the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) over 2.1 innings. Nolan Dvorak followed with 2.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits. The bullpen closed strong, as Nolan Adkisson, Logan Miller, and Emmot Nathan each delivered a scoreless inning to finish the game.
Defensively, Dakota Wesleyan committed one error, while Valley City State played error-free baseball. The Vikings collected nine hits and drew five walks. Kaden Rozdeba led the VCSU offense with a home run, double, and two RBIs.
