SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Two DWU Football players and two DWU Volleyball athletes were named GPAC Players of the Week after an impressive run of competition the week prior.

On the football side, the Tigers were led by Connor Drake, who took home GPAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. The backup quarterback was named the starter following an injury, and Drake showed he was ready to go by putting up 402 yards passing through the air, alongside four touchdowns in an overtime win over Mount Marty. Cody Winslow was named GPAC Defensive Player of the week after recording seven total tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two-and-a-half sacks, a blocked extra point, and a forced fumble. Winslow would suffer an injury during the contest, but his effort was made that much more impressive by the fact that his playing time was unfortunately cut short. You can read the GPAC's football release here.

For volleyball, Kaleigh Hybertson and Elizabeth Tyler each collected their third GPAC weekly awards of the season. Hybertson was named GPAC Setter of the week following a season-high performance of 55 assists against Dakota State alongside 31 assists in a win over Dordt, while Tyler was named GPAC Defender of the Week after averaging 7.38 digs-per-set in the two matches and put up 59 digs in total during the week. You can read the GPAC's volleyball release here.

DWU Football will square off against the Midland Warriors on Saturday, November 8th, at 1:00 PM at Joe Quintal Field, while WU Volleyball begins their run in the GPAC Quarterfinals against Dordt later in the day at the Christen Family Athletic Center at 7:00 PM.
