MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Basketball hosted the Hastings Broncos in the team's second-to-last home contest of the 2025-26 regular season.
The Broncos were ready to match Dakota Wesleyan's talent on the floor. Still, an immediate surge from Easton Neuendorf and Anthony Riggans gave the Tigers a lead that they were able to hold onto for the entirety of the contest. Neuendorf posted a perfect first half from the field, going five-for-five overall and three-for-three from beyond the arc, and went on to record a career-high of 25 points, alongside five contributed assists and a steal, in the best performance of the athlete's young collegiate career. The Lone Star State Stud, Riggans, followed closely behind, with a 9-13 (69.2%) clip from the field and a 3-5 (60%) clip from three by the end of the game, leading to a DWU career-high of his own. His 22-point performance, alongside four rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block, all added to the offensive output of Dakota Wesleyan. The two main scorers were aided in the starting rotation by Steele Morgan and Randy Rosenquist Jr., as both athletes each recorded 11 points, with Rosenquist Jr. also leading the team on the boards with eight rebounds in total. Tyson Stevenson rounded out DWU's starting rotation with a made three-point attempt alongside four rebounds. The added efforts propelled the Tigers to a 39-30 lead at the half over the Broncos.
Out of the break, the duo of Neuendorf and Riggans continued to stay hot, while Oliver Vincent recorded eight of his 10 points off the bench in the second half of play. Hastings was able to find points every couple of possessions with some efficient plays towards the basket, but the onslaught of the Tiger offense kept the Broncos at arm's length for the remainder of the contest. CJ Banks and Andrew Younan would record a few minutes on the floor to contribute, while Noah Oberfeld recorded a made free-throw in the second half to help push the Tigers to win the contest, 83-70. Dakota Wesleyan outrebounded Hastings 26-20 in the contest and had a much more efficient day from range, operating at a 50% clip from three as a team, compared to 27.8% from the Broncos. Capitalizing on efficient shooting, along with a more productive day at the free-throw line, helped lift the Tigers to victory. The win snaps DWU's two-game losing streak and puts them in a prime position to make a run in February.
DWU Men's Basketball will be back in action against the Doane Tigers on Sunday, February 8th, at 1:45 PM down in Nebraska. See the full 2025-26 schedule here.
