Men's Golf Finds its Footing at the 2025 Blue River Classic

LINCOLN, Neb. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Golf had five athletes compete down in Nebraska at the Blue River Classic, hosted by GPAC schools Doane and Concordia.

The first two rounds of the competition would take place on Wednesday. The reigning indiviudal tournament winner from last week, Connor Calahan, would once again lead the charge for the Tigers on the green, posting an impressive 70 (-2) in round one and an even par (72) during round two to set himself up well for the third round. Peyton Bettcher would have the team's second-best individual placement with a 76 (+4) in round one and an impressive 71 (-1) during the second round. Dakota Munger posted a total score of 236 (+20) in three rounds with his best round occuring at the end of the first day where he tallied a score of 76 (+4), while Will Jarding and Benjamin Wilber would finish within one stroke of each other, posting marks of +30 and +31 by the end of the competition.

The second day and third round of the competition would see Calahan solidify his top-three individual placement with his best round of the tournament, shooting a 69 (-3) to round out his total score at 211 (-5). Bettcher would place 25th individually with a final score of 224 (+8). Between the five competitors, Dakota Wesleyan would place eighth overall (+52) out of 16 teams in an extremely competitive field, with the third round solidifying the team's place ahead of fellow GPAC schools Briar Cliff, two of Doane's golf groups, and all three of Concordia's squads.
