Bettcher Places Third, Men's Golf Team Claims Sixth to Conclude Season at GPAC Championships

DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Golf traveled to the southeast corner of the state to compete against 10 other teams at the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships.

The leading golfer for the team would be Peyton Bettcher, who put together a consistent effort across three rounds of play to finish in third place out of all competitors, earning himself a spot on the 2026 Men's Golf All-Tournament team with a final score of 221 (+5). His best efforts would come in rounds one and three, shooting 73 (+1) in both rounds, while registering seven birdies across 54 holes of golf. Dakota Munger would be the team's next-highest placer, as the sophomore posted a respectable 21st-place finish, set up by a 74 (+2) in the first round. Benjamin Wilber would be the third Tiger represented on the individual leaderboard in 32nd place as the freshman was able to perform well on the first day to propel himself to a final score of 238 (+22), and Jack Olson would post a 79 (+7) performance in round three to crack the top 40. Ryan Flannery would post an 89 (+17) in the first round of play in the five spot for the lineup, and was subbed out for Will Jarding, who recorded an 87 (+15) in round two and an improved 82 (+10) on the final day of competition. As a team, the Tigers recorded a final score of 935 (+71) to end up in sixth place out of all 11 schools, with a handful of individuals being able to end the season on a high note at the Championship tournament.
