MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team topped the Concordia University Bulldogs 2-1 on Saturday for the first time since 2011 in Great Plains Athletic Conference action on Senior Day at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
Seniors Peter Wartenberg (Chaska, Minn.) and Jorgen Munson (Duluth, Minn.) tallied both of the goals for the Tigers on assists from Derek Brenner (Yankton, S.D.). Brenner and Daniel Clas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) also recorded a shot on goal in the victory.
Goalie Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) tallied eight saves for DWU.
The Tigers end their season at 3-13 with a 2-7 record in conference play. DWU graduates three seniors from the 2016 squad.
