MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer hosted the Providence (Mont.) Argos at the Pepsi Cola Soccer Complex.
The game would be delayed just 17 minutes into the contest due to lightning, but after the break, the Tigers would come alive. Michael Kelly would take advantage of defensive mistakes by the Argos to claim two goals for the Tigers in the 22nd and 25th minute, and DWU would ride that wave of momentum through the rest of the contest. Lukas Adamhuber would score a goal before the half ended in the 40th minute thanks to a precise pass from Korbinian Rieder to claim a 3-0 lead heading into the locker room.
The Tiger offense would continue to dominate in the second half, with multiple DWU athletes getting shots up on the goal. Dakota Wesleyan would extend its lead to 4-0 after Adamhuber's second goal of the day, which was assisted by Evan Bolster. The scoring effort would complete its course in the 71st minute, where Rieder would tap in a goal after a pass from Lewis Cunningham that would be set up by a slick backwards pass from Adamhuber. The Tigers would put up 22 total shots on goal, and goalkeeper Zackary Stephens would only have to save one ball from entering the net thanks to a stout defensive effort.
DWU Men's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, September 6th, when the team heads down to Nebraska to take on York. See the entire 2025 schedule here.
