MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer defeated NCAA Division III opponent Concordia-Moorhead to pick up its second match win of the season ahead of conference play.

The Tiger offense would be off to a slow start in the first half, with the visiting Cobbers setting the pace early on. An early crease in the DWU backline would lead to the first and only goal for Concordia-Moorhead in the 11th minute. The Dakota Wesleyan counter-attack would see multiple opportunities to score, but would not quite be able to connect early on. Luis Waeschle would be DWU's main source of offensive output, totaling four shots throughout the match to lead the team, but none would be able to get into the goal. On the defensive end, Zackary Stephens would lock down the home net following the early goal, registering two saves and the other two shots Concordia-Moorhead would put on the net. It would help the Tigers only take a 1-0 deficit into the locker room at halftime.

Dakota Wesleyan would come out of the locker room rejuvenated, finding the offensive push it had been looking for in the first half. Just two minutes into the resumed match, Evan Bolster would take advantage of a scrambled Cobber defense and put one into the net to tie the game at 1-1. The game would remain stalemated at one-all, but the continued pressure by Dakota Wesleyan would eventually lead a plethora of goals to roll in. The Tigers would score three goals between the 73rd and 82nd minute, with David Lennon, Lewis Cunningham, and Colin Burke all recording goals in the span of just under nine minutes. Burke's goal would be assisted by AJ Bowman, with the other two being unassisted. The 4-1 lead would remain for the rest of the contest, and the Tigers would claim their second win of the season in impressive fashion.

DWU Men's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, September 20th, as the Tigers host Mount Marty to open GPAC play. See the full 2025 schedule here.
