MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer squared off against the Dordt Defenders in its second GPAC contest of the 2025 season.
DWU started the game putting the pressure on the Dordt defense, with early attempts on the net setting the pace for the rest of the match. In just the 10th minute, reigning GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Evan Bolster would put one into the back of the net off a pass from Lukas Adamhuber to jump out to a 1-0 lead. The contest would stall as both defenses attempted to control the pitch. David Lennon, Neil Ennis, and Colin Burke would hold the backline, each playing a full 90 minutes, with Burke even recording two shots on the day. Zackary Stephens would hold the Defenders out of the net for the entire match, recording three saves in total, and helped carry the team's 1-0 lead into the half.
In the second half, the Tigers would continue to battle for positioning, but they would also see more opportunities to extend their lead. Venas Stani would get a chance at a goal, along with Burke, but it would ultimately be Tristin Hendricks who would punch in Dakota Wesleyan's second goal to extend the lead to 2-0. The final stretch of the contest would see yellow cards on both sides, which would end up slowing the match back down with under 10 minutes to go. The game would end at the 2-0 scoreline, which pushes the Tigers to 2-0 in conference play and 4-5 overall.
The Tigers will be back in action against Hastings on Saturday, September 27th, at 5:30 PM. See the full 2025 schedule here.
