SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer faced the Briar Cliff Chargers in an early afternoon GPAC contest.

The Tigers were on the attack from the beginning of the match, maintaining their offensive pace that has pushed them towards the top of the conference standings. DWU recorded the first six shots of the contest and ultimately outshot BCU 10-6 in the first half, but they were unable to capitalize on their offensive opportunities. Michael Kelly led the Tigers with five shots during the game as the offense's most prominent force, with Colin Burke and AJ Bowman both playing full matches and recording three shots apiece. Dakota Wesleyan's pace did slow down a bit as the game continued, but they still were able to keep the ball on the upper half of the pitch. Even so, the match remained scoreless heading into the half.

Defensively, Zackary Stephens kept Briar Cliff at bay for a majority of the match, recording five saves on six shots-on-goal, but the lone goal allowed for the day would happen quickly after the return from the break. The Chargers found a seam in the 51st minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Tigers mounted a counterattack with a series of shots on the opposing side of the field, with Luis Waeschle recording two shots-on-goal to add to the offensive effort, but the Charger defense held steady. Evan Bolster and Maximilian Nolle contributed two shots each as well, but it did not result in any points for Dakota Wesleyan. The team kept up the pressure through all 90 minutes, but the contest ended 1-0 in favor of Briar Cliff. The Tigers move to 7-8-1 on the year and 5-3-1 in conference play.

DWU Men's Soccer will be back in action against the Bellevue Bruins down in Nebraska on Saturday, October 25th, at 3:00 PM. See the full 2025 schedule here
