PARK CITY, Kan. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Wrestling kicked off the new season down in Kansas, as they competed in the Falcon Open, hosted by NAIA school Friends University.

The Tigers were led by Tukker Boe, who competed in the 133-pound weight class in his first matches of the season. The sophomore lost his opening contest via decision. Still, it rattled off two consecutive wins on the backside of the bracket with a pin in just under six minutes, followed by a gritty 12-8 win by decision. Three other DWU wrestlers matched his 2-2 overall record to open the year. True freshman Ian Metz opened his collegiate career with a 6-2 win by decision and secured a second on the backside of the bracket in a closer 8-6 decision. Teagan Foreman grabbed a pair of victories at 174, winning his first match by a 7-5 decision and recording a technical fall in a 22-6 win over a wrestler from NCAA Division II Central Oklahoma. Gavin Braun had an impressive showing at 165 in the freshman bracket with a run to the quarterfinals via a technical fall in the second period of his opening contest, 17-2, and a 9-4 decision in the following round.

The Tigers saw a good portion of the lineup get good matches in against stout competition. Landon Flogstad recorded a technical fall on the backside of the 141-pound bracket. Dylan ArredondoGordien NzeyimanaJaxson Irvine, and Will Farren all had two matches on the day for the Tigers as well, and while the full roster was not able to compete in Kansas, the team is in a good position as the 2025-26 campaign officially gets underway.
