ASHLAND, Neb. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Cross Country traveled south to Eugene T. Mahoney State Park to participate in the Blazing Tiger Open, which will also be the site of the conference championships in a couple of weeks.

The Tigers faced some of the NAIA's top competition down in Nebraska as they prepared for the back portion of their season. The men's race was an 8000m course, and all four Tigers ended up finishing within a minute-and-a-half of each other. Dakota Wesleyan was led by Graham Huffman, as the true freshman set a new personal best of 30:01.98 as he pushed for a sub-30-minute time on the season, placing in the top 300 individually. Dustin Lemaster followed closely behind with a new personal best of his own, posting a 30:27.14, which is just over a four-minute improvement from his posted times in September.

Gage Dietterle placed 299th individually with a final mark of 30:40.07, while Gage Hohn rounded out the team's lineup with a posted time of 31:10.36. Hohn's posted time was a personal best for him, while Dietterle recorded one of his first marks in the 8000m race this season. The team did not have enough competitors to register a final team score, but still held strong against some of the country's best competitors.

DWU Men's Cross Country will be back in action at the GPAC Cross Country Championships in November. See the full 2025 schedule here.
