MITCHELL, S.D. – As the 2019 Dakota Wesleyan University softball season has concluded, it is sure that the legacy of Sierra Haage (Sioux Falls, S.D.) in the circle will not be forgotten as the senior right-handed pitcher has left her mark on program.
Haage has been a staple for the Tigers over the past four season's both in the batter's box and in the circle. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native set the program record in pitching wins as well as strikeouts. Haage added to that number while also adding to her legacy this season.
Haage pitched in 24 games this season, posting a 4.71 ERA while striking out 90 batters. In 18 starts, Haage collected eight wins and threw 13 complete games. Over her career, Haage has amassed 44 wins on the mound with a career ERA of 3.43. She has pitched in 111 games for DWU and has 422 career strikeouts.
She also contributed at the plate for the Tigers hitting a .286 batting average with 117 hits, 27 doubles, 16 homeruns and knocked in 82 runs in her career.
Haage was a three-time member of the All-GPAC softball team and created a lasting impact on the DWU softball program that will be remembered for years to come.
Haage graduated earlier in May with a degree in biology and a minor in business.
