Game 3 Preview: DWU vs. No. 10 NWC in GPAC Tournament

Mitchell, S.D. - Dakota Wesleyan softball will face No. 10 Northwestern for Game 3 in the GPAC Tournament after an eventful start to the competition. The Tigers began their tournament campaign with a strong 6-1 victory over Concordia, but fell to Doane 11-3 in Game 2. With a split to kick things off, the Tigers are set to square off against a tough Northwestern team, aiming to bounce back and make a push for the title.

(4) Dakota Wesleyan (34-15, 14-8 GPAC) – The Tigers split the twinbill in Orange City with a dominant win over Concordia, but Doane played a great game after upsetting No. 1-seeded NWC they beat us 11-3. Against CUNE, Alison Ernsberger pitched a complete game, retiring 6 batters. Elle Feser had a shot over the fence. Sophie Wietzsma led with 2 RBIs on the day, with McKinley Mull and Jordyn Blogg each adding one. Against Doane, the Tigers emptied their pitching staff with Krcil taking the loss. Macy Moore led with two doubles and an RBI in the loss.

(1) Northwestern (41-10, 20-2 GPAC) – The Red Raiders split their games on the opening day of the tournament, losing to Doane but bouncing back with a win over Concordia. During the regular season, Northwestern split with Dakota Wesleyan, with the Tigers snapping their win streak and handing NWC one of their two conference losses.

Admission:
Admission is $10 for adults and senior citizens, and $3 for K-12 students. Only those with NAIA passes or GPAC student IDs will be admitted free of charge.
