Awards & Honors
Freshman (2022-23): Played in 31 games with 15 starts at the guard position...was named All-GPAC Honorable Mention in her true freshman season... finished with 8.4 points on a team-high/GPAC top-10 53.1% shooting from the floor, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals...the last 15 games Rosenquist averaged 11.6 points per game while scoring a season-high 24 points twice during that stretch...first time against No. 4 Dordt University (1/25/23) and secondly vs. (RV) Northwestern (2/21/23)...in those 15 games Rylee has scored in double digits eight times...also very active on the boards Rosenquist collected a season-high 10 rebounds at Mount Marty (11/22/22).
High School: 2022 graduate at Dakota Valley High School...was a Class A Player Of The Year, on the All-Tournament team, Conference MVP and first team All-State/Conference during her five year letter winning career in basketball...finished her career with 1,837 points, 918 rebounds, 358 assists and 304 steals...was also a three year letterwinner in soccer and a two year letter winner in softball and track.

The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team played a very hard-fought game against the number one team in the country but came up short for a 57-53 final. The Tigers were unable to overcome their 21 turnovers in the game and poor shooting from the free throw line (12-18) when just a night ago they shot 16-16. DWU had one of their better defensive showings of the year holding the high powered Eagles offense to just 57 points (fewest on the season) on 31.3% shooting but couldn’t overcome the turnovers. The Tigers conclude their season with a 23-9 record. Dakota Wesleyan was led by the two seniors that did it all year in Matti Reiner with 15 points and Jada Campbell with her 13 points and 12 rebounds for her second straight double-double.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball has five representatives for the GPAC All-Conference team for the 2022-23 season. One, First Team in Senior forward Matti Reiner (3rd All-Conference selection). Two, Second Teams in Senior center Jada Campbell (3rd All-Conference selection) and junior guard Isabel Ihnen. Then two Honorable Mention’s in freshman guard Rylee Rosenquist and sophomore guard Morgan Edelman.
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team drops a heart-breaking overtime loss in a game they led for almost 26 minutes of against No. 4 Dordt Defenders in the GPAC Semifinal game. Jada Campbell and Morgan Edelman both fouled out in the fourth quarter resulting in the Tigers to battle it out in overtime with two of their main starters and leading scorer in Campbell. DWU had the ball last with 24 seconds, down by one but couldn’t get the last second shot to fall. Four Tigers were in double figures in the contest with Edelman leading with her 16 and nine alone in the fourth quarter.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball earned their sixth win in a row on the season and going a perfect 3-0 against the Red Raiders with the 69-62 Quarterfinal win at the Corn Palace. Rylee Rosenquist stepped up again in a big way for her team tying a career-high 24 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the quarterfinal contest. Senior, Matti Reiner turned in a big as well scoring 19 points. The Tigers now move on to face Dordt University Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball squad earned the massive 13-point comeback victory 68-65 over Morningside. DWU was led by the true freshman Rylee Rosenquist who did not back away from the big moment and carried her team in crunch time scoring 10 points alone in the fourth quarter. Matti Reiner was great all-night scoring 18 points and six rebounds. DWU improves to 20-7 (14-7 GPAC) with the Mustangs dropping to 16-11 (10-10 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team fell 66-58 to (RV) Jamestown. Dakota Wesleyan held their own on the defensive side of the court limiting a high-powered Jimmies offense to just 66 points but couldn’t get anything going on the offensive side. Jada Campbell tied Randi Morgan’s school record of six blocks in a game in the contest while also scoring game-high 13 points. Morgan Edelman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Tigers drop to 16-7 (10-7 GPAC) while the Jimmies improve to 18-5 (13-4 GPAC).

Lacey Sprakel was dominant from beginning to end with her 18 points off the bench followed by the always consistent source of offense in Matti Reiner with 17 points. Isabel Ihnen had 16 points followed by Morgan Edelman with 13 and Rylee Rosenquist with 12. DWU improves 15-6 (9-6 GPAC) with the No. 18 Chargers dropping to 16-5 (12-3 GPAC).

Matti Reiner hit a game tying shot with a lot of contact at the end of regulation to send it to overtime. Rylee Rosenquist scored a career-high 24 points in the contest to go along with a game-high eight rebounds. Reiner recorded 19 points. DWU falls to 14-6 (8-6 GPAC) with the Defenders improving to 20-1 (14-1 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team grabbed the big 86-78 comeback victory of Doane University. The DWU Tigers were led by Rynn Osthus off the bench scoring a career-high 18 points in the contest. Jada Campbell and Rylee Rosenquist added 18 points as well. Campbell did it all in this one recording a career-high five assists, grabbing five boards and a season-high four blocks while also dominating the fourth quarter as usual with 10 points. Dakota Wesleyan yet again dialed up the defense by having another game of forcing 20+ turnovers. DWU also moved the ball well again racking up 20 assists in the game. Dakota Wesleyan improves to 14-5 (8-5 GPAC) while Doane drops to 11-9 (5-9 GPAC).

Jada Campbell dominated as usual with 24 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. The Tigers improved to 11-5 (5-5 GPAC) while the Warriors drop to 3-13 (1-10 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team fell 59-58 to the Concordia Bulldogs with Edelman being just late on her last second shot. CUNE started their possession with 33 seconds on the clock and picked up a shot clock violation and not hitting the rim. Officials allowed the 1.7 seconds shown to be the official time. Morgan Edelman drilled a shot just after the buzzer which would have given DWU the win but resulted in a 59-58 loss for the Tigers. Dakota Wesleyan falls to 10-5 (4-5 GPAC) on the season.

The Tigers couldn’t overcome their 22 turnovers in the game, resulting from physical play from the Chargers. BCU changed the pace of the game as soon as they went to their full court press that the Tigers didn’t have an answer for. DWU drops to 10-4 (4-4 GPAC) on the season with BCU improving to 11-4 (7-2 GPAC).
#21 Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball squad picked up the win against RV The Masters University in blowout fashion 72-41. The Tigers won every quarter and dominated the fourth outscoring the Mustangs 15-5 and only allowing one made field goal the entire quarter (0:23 left). Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball grabbed game one of two on their California trip by a score of 64-53. The Tigers dominated the boards 52-28 grabbing a staggering 21 offensive rebounds in the contest. Isabel Ihnen led with her 15 points with Reiner pouring in 11 with a season-high 13 rebounds to complete the double-double. DWU improves to 9-3 with the Pioneers dropping to 8-6.

Hastings won the game with their efficient shooting from deep (13-25 52%) and getting a couple calls to go their way resulting in a lot of trips to the ‘charity’ stripe 17-20 compared to DWU only going 7-12. The #7 Tigers extinguished the CSM Flames 100-40 in their home season opener at the Corn Palace. Matti Reiner recorded 19 points and scored her 1,000 point in the game.
