Despite the score, her ball striking was among the best in the field, consistently giving herself opportunities throughout the round.
The story of the day, however, was on the greens. Ally recorded six three-putts, an unusually high number given her typically steady putting performance. Most were unexpected, save for the notorious pin position on Hole 5, which drew widespread criticism from players and fans alike. Social media posts featuring that green have already garnered over 100,000 views, highlighting the challenge it posed for even the tour's best.
Despite the putting woes, Meyerink remains in strong position to make the cut. Her second round is set to begin at 8:50 AM CT, and with a solid round today, she'll be right in the mix heading into the weekend.
