NIOBRARA, Neb. — Both Men's and Women's Dakota Wesleyan Golf teams competed in the 2025 Mount Marty Invite, which saw standout individual and team performances across the board.

The team added Ryan Flannery to its lineup for the first time in the 2025-26 season, with the Tigers submitting scores for seven athletes in the men's competition pool. The team would be competitive with the field between both rounds, with Connor Calahan, Peyton Bettcher, and Benjamin Wilber all tying for 15th place with scores of 152 (+8). Wilber saw his best finish of the season so far, notching a consistent 75 (+3) and 77 (+5) in both days, while Calahan recorded a 73 in the second round to climb back up the individual standings. Dakota Munger finished the tournament three strokes behind the team's top performers with a final mark of 155 (+11) in a solid effort. Flannery tied with Will Jarding on the leaderboard, with both golfers finishing at 159 (+15), while Jack Olson rounded out the group's effort with a tally of 174 after two rounds of play. The men's team finished fifth overall in the team standings.

The women's team would see four competitors in action, with the entire squad having a phenomenal showing, as all four individuals would finish in the top 10. Allison Meyerink was the team's top scorer and claimed first place for the second time in her 2025-26 campaign off the back of an even-par 72 on the second day to record a final tally of 149 (+5). After the first round, however, it was Sara Sudenga who led the team individually, with her 75 (+3) performance on day one standing out. Sudenga would record a 76 (+4) the next day to finish just two strokes behind Meyerink, placing fourth overall behind a pair of Doane competitors. Dakotah Larson had an impressive day two, recording a 75 (+3) to find herself as a top finisher, placing eighth overall with a final tally of 156 (+12). At the same time, Ashton Austreim followed closely behind to crack the top 10, recording a 157 (+14) when the dust had settled. The team finished in second place out of seven teams and ultimately ended up just four strokes behind first place overall. The DWU women's golf team would be the only one to have four competitors instead of five, making their impressive performance that much more notable.

Both teams will continue their fall seasons at the 2025 Mustang Derby in early October, with the women's team heading to the 2025 Mustang Invitational beforehand. See the entire 2025-26 schedule for the men's team here, and the women's team here.
