NEWTON, Kan. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's & Women's Golf competed in the Bethel Spring Invitational against top-end competition in the area.

The men's roster saw Peyton Bettcher take the lead in one of the most impressive performances of his collegiate career, tying for first place following the first round with an opening 75 (+3) in less-than-favorable conditions, and he was able to round out his performance in third individually, tallying a final mark of 152 (+8) following the second round. His third-place finish was just three strokes out of first, and Bettcher placed ahead of multiple top golfers in the region and was the second-best finish out of all GPAC competitors. Jack Olson would have a solid showing with a standout second round, ending the meet in 31st place individually with a final mark of 162 (+18), while Dakota Munger finished at 167 (+23) after an even 84 (+12) and 83 (+11) between both rounds of competition. Benjamin Wilber recorded a stellar second round of 82 (+10) to earn a final mark of 171 (+27), and Ryan Flannery rounded out the group effort with a score of 177. The team finished in 10th place out of 14 squads.

On the women's side, Allison Meyerink once again led the way for the team, eventually earning her fourth individual tournament win of the season by outpacing the rest of the field by at least five strokes by the end of the contest. Her 77 (+5) in the first round set her up for success, and a subsequent 81 (+9) on the second day would put her final mark at 158 (+14). She was followed closely by Sara Sudenga, who surged for a fifth-place finish in her own right, posting an 84 (+12) in the first round and 85 (+13) in the second to finish towards the top of the standings and earn some well-deserved hardware. Dakotah Larson would also have a solid showing, finishing in the top 20 after an impressive second round that saw her improve by 13 strokes from day one. Tessa Bulson rounded out the team's effort with a final mark of 252, with the team placing sixth as a whole out of a highly competitive field of schools.
