MITCHELL, S.D. – Off to a strong start including two shutout home victories to begin the season the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team readies for in-state rival Mount Marty University in non-conference action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday from Crane-Youngworth field in Yankton, S.D.
About the Tigers
- Head coach Clay Glasgow and the Tigers defeated NCAA Division II opponent University of Minnesota Crookston by a score of 1-0 on Saturday from the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
- Sophomore midfielder Deandrea Johnson (Antioch, Calif.) scored the decisive goal in the 46th minute granting DWU the home victory.
- Dakota Wesleyan goalkeeper Hannah Trumbull (Casper, Wyo.) notched a pair of saves during the first half of Saturday's match after getting the start in the net. Both Trumbull and Isabella Gregg (Moreno Valley, Calif.) have surrendered just one goal through three matches this season from the goalkeeper position.
About the Lancers
- MMU is off to a 1-1-0 start in 2021 and ended the 2020 season with an overall record of 2-10-1.
- The Lancers are under the direction of first-year head coach Cynthia Chavez, who arrives at Mount Marty after completing her playing career at both San Bernardino Valley College and Kansas Wesleyan University.
