General: Deffenbaugh looks to build off of a solid sophomore campaign in which she qualified in both the discus throw and hammer throw at the the 2021 GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Sophomore Outdoor (2020-21): Competed in six meets for the Blue and Gray … qualified in both the discus and hammer at the 2021 GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships … collegiate best in the discus throw at the championship event (36.97m, 121-3) … personal best in the hammer throw at the Northern State University Spring Open (42.44m, 139-3).
Sophomore Indoor (2020-21): Saw action in five meets … top-10 finish in the weight throw at the Mount Marty Open (12.68m, 41-7.25) … collegiate best and second place in the weight throw at the Dordt Open (13.47m, 44-2.5).
Freshman Outdoor (2019-20): Season was canceled.
Freshman Indoor (2019-20): Competed in five meets … threw the shot and weight at the SDSU DII Invitational ... season best in the weight throw at the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet (11.02m, 36-2).
High School: Recorded a personal best in the discus at the Howard Wood Meet (118-2) … a two-year state qualifier in the discus throw … also participated in volleyball for four years and basketball for two years … named All-State Honorable Mention in volleyball … a National Honor Society and ‘A’ Honor Roll member … a four-year All-State Choir participant.

The men’s distance medley relay, comprised of Caleb Sayler, Justin Sorensen, Hunter Shanks and Wyatt Baldauf, secured a new program record on Friday while eight different Tigers secured top-3 finishes in their respective events on Saturday.
VERMILLION, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University track and field program, just two weeks out from the Great Plains Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, faced stiff competition including NCAA DI, DII, and NAIA challengers at the University of South Dakota Alumni Meet in Vermillion, S.D. Highlighting the day, senior throws specialist Caden Milmine captured a third-place finish in the men’s shot put field while several other Tigers registered impressive performances on Saturday afternoon from Mildred J. Hillenbrand Memorial Track.
