VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Track & Field was represented by six individuals at the 2026 Viking Twilight, hosted by NAIA school Valley City State University, up in North Dakota.
Four male competitors would find success across the board with multiple top-end finishes. The first would be Tayne Herrmann, who won the 110m hurdles with a 17.00-second time and went on to place fifth in the javelin throw, recording a 43.53m mark in the process. Kellen Brozik would be the other male competitor to win an event, placing first in the 800m with a 2:04.70 final mark. At the same time, Sean DeBlieck would post respectable marks in both the long and triple jump, along with a third-place finish in the 100m with a time of 11.43 seconds. Trevor Sladky would be the lone male athlete to hit a new career mark, with the sophomore hitting a personal-best 6.56m in the long jump, earning him fifth place. For the women's team, Ella Pollreisz was able to set a new season-best in the 800m with a 2:28.53, earning her first place in the event over a handful of other Valley City State and Concordia-Moorhead athletes, while Devin Hongslo would be the final DWU representative at the Viking Twilight, finishing 16th in a highly competitive women's hammer throw field, alongside claiming 12th in the shot put with a top mark of 10.87m.
