Caitlin Ostbye Named Track & Field, Strength & Conditioning Assistant Coach

MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Track & Field announces the addition of Caitlin Ostbye, MSAL, CSCS, to the coaching staff as an assistant both on the track and in the weight room.

Previously, Ostbye served as a strength and conditioning and track and field graduate assistant at Augustana University, where she oversaw the athletic department's track and field, tennis, and golf programs for the 2025-26 school year. She was a student assistant the year prior for Augustana, alongside competing on the track and field team, and served the same role at her undergraduate alma mater, Northwestern College, from 2021 through 2024. During the summer of 2023, Ostbye interned at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, gaining experience with the institution's Olympic sports. She is originally from Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 2020, returning to her hometown to fulfill her duties both in the athletic department and as an associate registrar.

Caitlin graduated from Augustana University with a Master's degree in sports administration and leadership in 2025 and earned her undergraduate degree in exercise science from NWC in 2024. In her one season of competition as an athlete at Augustana, Ostbye earned NSIC All-Conference honors in the indoor 4x400m. In her four seasons with the Red Raiders during her undergraduate studies, Caitlin had an impressive career on the track, amassing eight total GPAC All-Conference awards for her efforts, and earning All-American status on Northwestern's 4x400m relay team during the 2021-22 indoor season. She specialized in short-distance sprints and made an impact in the 60m, 100m, and 200m races individually.

Coach Ostbye has already begun her work on campus, being officially named on-staff in June 2026.
