DWU VOLLEYBALL SERVES UP TWO MORE HOME MATCHES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Mitchell, S.D. – RV Dakota Wesleyan volleyball set to welcome non-conference opponent York College and GPAC opponent Morningside College to the Christen Family Athletic Center Friday and Saturday. The match between DWU and York is a varsity-only match set to begin at 7 p.m., Saturdays, match against Morningside the junior varsity squads will face off at 1:30 p.m. while the varsity squads are set to serve up a 3 p.m. start time.

 

ABOUT THE TIGERS

  • Dakota Wesleyan volleyball enters the weekend with records of 11-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
  • After Wednesday's win against No. 9 Northwestern, the Tigers are averaging 14.05 kills per set and hitting with .253 percent.
  • DWU is allowing opponents to hit .127 percent while notching 91 total blocks through 12 matches.
  • Ady Dwight leads the Tigers in kills per set with 4.10 and a hitting percentage of .355 percent.
  • Mariah Gloe and Mackenzie Miller are second and third in kills per set with 2.93 and 2.49, respectively.

  • Leading the attack for Morningside is Sydney Marlow, notching 2.66 kills per set.

  • Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside split the two meetings last year DWU grabbed the win on the road, then dropped a three-set match at home.
  • After the Mustangs ran away with the first set, the Tigers picked up the final three while keeping Morningside under 20-points in each set.
