TIGERS AND DEFENDERS SERVE UP MIDWEEK GPAC MATCH

Mitchell, S.D. – RV Dakota Wesleyan volleyball will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa in a midweek match against the Defenders of Dordt. DWU junior varsity will begin at 6 p.m. with the varsity teams begging at 7:30 p.m..

 

ABOUT THE TIGERS

  • DWU enters the Wednesday match with records of 13-1 overall, 3-0 in the GPAC, and 3-0 on the road.
  • Last week, the Tigers swept all three of their opponents at home No. 9 Northwestern, York, and Morningside in three sets.
  • Dakota Wesleyan is averaging 13.98 kills per set while hitting .254 percent on the season.
  • Ady Dwight leads the Tigers in kills per set, averaging 4.15 with a .360 hitting percentage.
  • DWU is clipping 2.19 blocks per set and 17.45 digs per set.
  • Dwight and Mariah Gloe leads the team in blocks per set with 1.04 and 0.98, respectively.
  • Hanna Reiff has accumulated an average of 5.79 digs per set this season on 272 total digs.

ABOUT THE DEFENDERS

  • Dordt University takes the court with records of 10-2 overall, 2-1 in conference play, and 2-0 at home.
  • The Defenders' lone GPAC loss was at the hands of Jamestown in four sets.
  • As a team, Dordt is averaging 12.64 kills per set while hitting .204 percent.
  • With 3.90 kills per set, Corrina Timmermans leads the Defenders while Brenna Krommendyk leads in the hitting percentage category with .327 percent.
  • Krommendyk has averaged 1.21 blocks per set with 51 total blocks this season.
  • Erica Bousema has tallied 5.17 digs per set this year on 217 total digs as a team Dordt, is averaging 16.55 digs per set.
  • The Defenders are led by tenth-year head coach Chad Hanson.
