Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan volleyball boasts a pair of first and second team honorees along with two honorable mentions. Ady Dwight and Madeline Else were named first team honorees, Hanna Reiff and Mackenzie Miller were tabbed to the second team; Mariah Gloe and Tya Weideman were selected to the honorable mention list.
First Team
Junior middle blocker from Langford, S.D. Ady Dwight has posted 512 kills through the regular season and GPAC conference tournament, while notching 270 kills in conference play alone ranking her tenth in the GPAC. Dwight has also averaged 4.66 kills per set in conference matches ranking her third of all GPAC players. She posted her season high in kills against the Jimmies back on September 21 when she posted 25, while her best three and four set match kill highs were 21 and 24 against Concordia and Briar Cliff.
Senior setter from Holstein, Iowa, Madeline Else has posted a total of 1,277 assists through her 29 matches played this season. In conference play along she has 661 assists and averaging 11.40 assists per set in GPAC play for fifth best in the conference. Else has tallied 22 service aces with 13 of them against conference opponents. She has also gotten the job done defensively for the Tigers, notching 26 blocks and 126 digs in conference matches. Her conference season high was against Northwestern on the road in GPAC quarterfinal action when she tallied 61.
Second Team
Senior libero from Chester, S.D., Hanna Reiff has been a staple for the Tigers in the back line this season, posting 570 total digs with 283 of them in GPAC games. The libero also boasts 10 aces with three of them against conference opponents. Reiff's conference season high came in the five-set match against the Flames of Saint Mary back on September 24 when she recorded 26 digs.
Senior right side from Mitchell, S.D., Mackenzie Miller has been consistent for DWU in conference play this season, recording 169 kills and hitting .260 percent in those GPAC matches. Overall, she has posted 287 kills through 29 matches, hitting .230 percent. Miller has been a force at the net, recording 65 total blocks, 36 of which have come against conference opponents. Miller posted a season high for kills in the GPAC quarterfinal match at Northwestern with 21.
Honorable Mention
Senior outside hitter from Watertown, S.D., Mariah Gloe has been an all-around player in her senior season with the Tigers, notching 248 total kills, 18 assists, 19 aces, 392 digs, and 54 total blocks in her 29 matches played.
Junior defensive specialist from Mellette, S.D., Tya Weideman through her 29 matches played has posted 27 aces with 321 digs and 13 assists, being another critical component to the Tigers defense this season.
