Bio
General: Coming off a phenomenal junior season … had one of his best performances in the NAIA National semifinal game against Davenport University, going 9-of-15 from deep and scoring 29 points … earned All-GPAC Second Team honors … became the first DWU basketball player to be named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team … will be chasing Chase Walder’s 249 three-pointers made record this season as he is currently at 206 … crossed the 1,000-point mark for his career as a junior.
Junior (2014-15): Continued his high-level of play in his junior season … played in all 37 games, averaging 16 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while totaling a team-high of 142 assists on the season … scored his 1,000th-career point in the Tigers GPAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Concordia University … thus far has 206 three-pointers made and is chasing Chase Walder for the school record for of 249 … had a standout game in the NAIA semifinal game, went 9-of-15 from deep and finished the game with 29 points, a team high for the tournament … was named to the All-GPAC Second Team … named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team, the first basketball player at DWU to earn the award and only the second Tiger to ever make the first team in any sport … also selected as the Emil S. Liston Award winner … was GPAC Player-of-the-Week for his performance against Midland University, where Bergh shot 63.5 percent from the field, finishing with 32 points.
Sophomore (2013-14): Had a breakout sophomore season for the Tigers under first-year Head Coach Matt Wilber, starting all 30 regular season games and averaging 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists … connected on 108 of 245 threes (44 percent), proving himself to be one of the top shooters in the nation from long range … shot 84 percent from the free-throw line … set the DWU record for 3-pointers made in a game with 10 in a win against Trinity Bible in the Tigers season opener in which he scored 43 points …named to the All-GPAC Second Team after finishing third in the NAIA in threes per game (3.4) and fourth in total threes (108). He also finished sixth in the NAIA in assist/turnover ratio (3.5).
Freshman (2012-13): Played in seven games in 2012-13 … scored seven points and pulled down four rebounds … also played with the DWU JV team.
High School: A three-year starter and letterwinner for the Mustangs … averaged 17.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists per game as a senior … helped Tri-Valley to district and region titles and a fifth-place finish at the Class A state tournament as a senior … earned all-conference first team honors as a senior and second-team accolades as a sophomore and junior … also named to the Class A All-Tournament team as a senior … was the 2012 Spirit of Su winner in Class A … also lettered four times in track and twice in golf … a member of the National Honor Society … finished his high school career with a 4.0 GPA.
